about

Josef Akin’s latest work, Enymore, scheduled for full release on June 29th 2023, is a hazy, moody EP that builds on the sounds of the previous two releases. Influences of jazz, hip-hop, dance music, and spiritual jazz all shine through in an EP which is a little more minimal than his previous release, Flightcase. Joe spends most of his life between Glasgow and London and the music is influenced by not only the varying music coming out of those cities but also the feeling of the cities themselves, which both have very different energies. Sometimes it can take some time to re-adapt to each one, and the EP attempts to capture these liminal moments where we are physically in a space but mentally still where we were previously.

Line-up:
Josef Akin - keys, piano, synths, vocals
Harry Weir - tenor saxophone, pedals
Norman Villeroux - bass
Anoushka Nanguy - trombone
India Blue - trumpet, backing vocals
Daniel Ashton - guitar, flute
Alex Palmer - drums (1,2,4)
Finn Rosenbaum - drums (3,5)

Big thanks to Help Musicians for their funding, without which the recording wouldn’t have been possible.
